Welcome to the WYJB website

The Wilmington Youth Jazz Band (WYJB) was founded in 2004 by Wilmington ’s own Fostina Dixon-Kilgoe. The band consists of Wilmington’s finest musicians ranging from ages 10 – 25.   WYJB's mission is to expose, educate and culturally enrich students through learning jazz music and maintain the future and longevity of jazz.

Fostina was awarded a grant as an alumnus of Berklee College of music in Boston, Massashussets.  Berklee is one of the top schools of jazz education in the World.  Being in partnership with Berklee College of Music means that they will use Berklee's curriculum in this coming season beginning April, 2009.
